Yuan's Fables

Upon the noticeboard at the Pig and Whistle, a number of crisp sheets can be seen pinned from time to time.  They are penned with a gentle hand, the style ornate and foreign.

The Blossom Tree and The Bramble

Within the heart of the Jade Forest, there stood a beautiful tree that bore the softest pink blossoms during the warmer seasons.  Crouching by her roots, there sat a humble bramble.
"You live a very pointless life, little thorn."  Spoke the Blossom Tree.
"How could houses and furniture be built without me?  My wood is clean and strong.  What good is a bramble?"
The bramble spoke plainly.
"One day they will come to you with axes and saws.  When they do, you will wish you had lived a bramble."

The Yaungol and The Cub

A young Pandaren girl was one day wandering in the hills near her home.
During her trip, she happened upon a tent she had not seen before.
Taken by curiosity, the cub stepped inside - and awoke a sleeping Yaungol.
The bull roared and grabbed the girl within his mighty fists, furious at her intrusion -
But the girl raised her hands, and begged his pardon for she had not intended to offend him.
Seeing the cub frightened, the beast calmed and let the child go free.

Many days passed, and the young explorer was this time searching in the woods.
As she picked and climbed through the trees, a defeated cry echoed through the forest.
Recognizing the voice, she ran and leapt through the tall roots and vines to find it's source.
In a small clearing, there stood the Yaungol - captured within a Saurok cage.
Her hands were small enough to trick the hinges, and soon the prison was undone.
They both went home, safe.

On that day, the Yaungol learned that kindness is not wasted -
and that even the small may one day return their favour if it is in their power.

The Virmen and The Orchard

One dry summer day, a young Virmen stepped into an orchard.
The trees rolled far over green hills, and bore fruit most tempting for the hungry kit.
He leapt and jumped but could not reach his prize.
After many hours of tricks and tantrums, the Virmen muttered as he left
"Bah!  Those apples are rotten, anyway!"

The Brave
We are not now that strength which in old days shattered the world and turned tides
That which we are, we are
One equal temper of heroic hearts, forged in battle and in peace
Hindered by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

It would appear Yuan'Do has returned.

The following note hangs near the fables.  The hand is familiar, but hurried and less elegant than usual.

To be Alliance..

Ambition and Dignity..  Majesty.  Courage.  Honor and Tenacity.  Hope.  This is what makes your people strong.  I understand that now.
A power wrought not of desperation or necessity..  But one of commitment that the people of Azeroth may look upon with Pride.
In my hubris I have spoken much and listened little.  It is time for change.

A medallion of the Alliance hangs beneath the note.  There is Pandaren writing stamped upon the metal.
